API call per time-series request

  • Back to 1970

Select major pairs reach back over 55 years; start dates vary by pair. Query /fx/pairs/historical-limits for the earliest available data point per pair and interval.

  • Exchange rate time series API

Pull a full date range in one request — one call per request, not one call per day like some competitors meter it.

  • Forex historical OHLC

Candlestick history at day, hour and minute intervals on Premium — ideal for charting and strategy backtests.

  • Quote history

Bid/ask time-series across 2,300+ pairs, so your backtests can model spread, not just midpoint.

Historical FX Data — FAQ.

The details developers ask about before integrating.

How do I get historical currency rates?
Call /historical for a single date or /time-series for a range — both are historical currency rates API calls for any supported pair, daily, on every plan. For hourly and minute data, use the FX endpoints on Premium.
How is time-series metered?
One time-series request counts as one API call against your 1,000,000 monthly allowance — regardless of the date range returned.
How far back does each pair go?
Start dates vary by pair — majors reach back to 1970, others start later. Coverage metadata is available via the API and docs.
What formats are supported?
JSON over HTTPS, consistent with every other fastFOREX API endpoint. Time-series endpoints accept ISO 8601, unix and UTC datetimes with timezone offsets — responses mirror the format you send.
Which endpoint gives which granularity?
The currency /historical and /time-series endpoints are daily. Hourly and minute history live on the FX endpoints: /fx/ohlc/time-series and /fx/quote/time-series (Premium).
